Eagle’s Nest Walk

With its 2.25 meter wing span the Verroux’s Eagle is a awe inspiring sight. These magestic birds use age old tested nesting sites that have been used for hundreds of years. Each breeding year the eagles add a few more sticks to the favored nest for the particular year(there can be three  nestingsites in the eagles home range). The nests can be as high as 7 meters from all the years of  adding more sticks and is something to behold. Each year the adults lay two eggs and hope to release one eagle to fill vacant areas across Southern Africa. The first born always killing the second born, known as the Cain and Able theory. This does not always happen as baboons love eagle eggs more than any other egg.

We walk along a river and come to a good pool for swimming. Your guide will access your fitness levels to determine what options will best suite your needs. Picnic meals will be provided as will drinking water. On a hot day bring swimming costumes and sunscreen along.
